Hopelab
Creating spaces for young adults
Hopelab is a nonprofit in San Francisco that uses research and technology to improve the lives of teens and young adults. In particular, they work to support young cancer survivors, those who struggle with mental health, and anyone else who can benefit from technology that provides positive reinforcement.
Nonbinary Coding and Hannah Rebernick worked collaboratively to redesign and rebuild the Hopelab website in 2020. The site was redesigned to streamline the user’s process of navigating the site and showcase the variety of products that Hopelab has created.
Priotizing customization and flexibility
We created a flexible component library that allows Hopelab to grow their website and content library as an organization, while staying consistent with the standards of the new website design.
Since launch, we have introduced iterative new features such as additional and revised content categories, search upgrades, a social media integration, a new MailChimp list subscription feature with topic preferences, accessibility improvements, and more.
Sustainable for future editors
In the WordPress dashboard, content managers can easily select from this library of reusable components, from WYSIWYGs to more robust grid-based options. This enables limitless layouts that are all “on-brand,” without needing a developer or designer. Once any component is selected, they can customize that component or nest other components within it.
